Cummins Acquired 287 Patents in 2017

The engine is indisputably the most sophisticated part of a vehicle. Just like the heart for human beings, it plays an essential role for any vehicles.

Fully committed to developing the best engines for vehicles, Cummins saw the number of its patents grow by 11% in 2017, reaching 287.

“Since 2013, the number of patents acquired by us has been growing steadily. By constantly making innovations, we aim to help our customers reap more economic and environmental benefits,” said Dr. Wayne Eckerle, Vice President of Cummins.

In recent years, Cummins has been focusing on developing more energy efficient diesel engines, natural gas engines, bio-fuel engines, and electricity powered engines. By improving the overall energy efficiency of its engine products and cut their emissions, it has helped its customers cut their operation costs considerably.

Currently, Cummins boasts over 10,000 engineers, scientists and technicians working in 20-plus Tech Centers across the world.
