It is pointed out that China has already laid a solid foundation for its energy storage industry. In order to build a modern energy industry chain featuring clean energy, high efficiency, high safety standards and low carbon emissions, China will put great emphasis on developing and promoting energy storage technologies.
As an indispensable part of new energy industry, energy storage is playing a fundamental role in new energy vehicle industry, intelligent power grid, mini power grid, distributional energy system, and family energy storage.
Statistics show lithium batteries accounted for 50% of the newly added energy storage solutions in 2016. It is expected that by 2025, lithium batteries will play a predominant role in the global energy storage industry, accounting for 80% of the total stored energy.
