The Volvo delegation is warmly welcomed by Mr. Zhang Weiguo, Secretary of Shiyan’s Municipal City, Mr. Chen Xinwu, Mayor and Deputy Secretary of Shiyan Municipal City, Mr. Li Shaozhu, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of Dongfeng, and Mr. Yang Qing, Vice President of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd (DFG) and General Manager of Dongfeng Trucks.

 

Mr. Lundstedt extends his thanks for the concern and support from the Party Committee and Municipal Government of Shiyan City on the cooperation and development of Dongfeng and Volvo. He says that Volvo makes a long-term commitment to equipment modification, utilizing of wind energy, biofuel and green electricity, and initiatively realizes zero-carbon emission in global auto manufacturing market. Next, Volvo will increase input in areas like key technologies, R&D new products, market exploiting and operating management, in order to make the JV brand into a “Splendid Pearl” in the whole industry. Both sides should work together, just like cultivating their own babies, make the JV bigger and stronger.
 


Before the appointment, Mr. Lundstedt and his delegation, accompanied by Yang Qing, pays a visit to the new plant of powertrain and heavy trucks for Dongfeng Trucks, and then exchange opinions with the management team from Dongfeng Trucks, which was composed of both Chinese and foreigners.
