Among all types of new energy buses, China sales of the new energy city buses took the largest share, reaching 83% with its sales volume standing at 46,999 units in the first nine months. New energy travel coaches, with a sales volume of 9,210 units, came the second. The sales volume of new energy buses for special purposes, reached 657 units. Last came the new energy school buses with their sales standing at only one unit.


Among all new energy bus manufacturers, Yutong took the lead with its sales volume reaching 13,143 units from January to September this year and Zhongtong came the second place in the same period. BYD managed to sell 6,697 units new energy buses in the first nine months this year. The combined sales volume of the above-mentioned three new energy bus manufacturers in the first three quarters accounted for half of the overall sales volume in the industry.


In the area of new energy city bus market, Yutong’s market share reached 25%. Yutong, Zhongtong and BYD together accounted for 58% of the overall market. From January to September this year, BYD’s sales volume of new energy city buses took up to 14% of the overall market.
