Golden Dragon on Cultivating High-end Market Abroad
2015 marks a fruitful year for Golden Dragon. First, the bus maker’s 50,000th unit bus for the overseas market went off its production line. “As early as 2006, we made detailed development plans for our export business. Our target is to increase the percentage of our export to over one quarter of our overall business,” says Peng.

In March, 2016, a high-end bus model jointly developed by Golden Dragon and Netherlands-based EBUSCO successfully secured a deal with Transdev from France. Before this, Golden Dragon had already made a series of impressive achievements, such as exporting China’s first all-aluminum electric bus to Netherlands, delivering its second batch of all-aluminum electric buses to Norway and winning Eco-Bus Award at 2015 Busworld Week.

On November 27, 2015, a Golden Dragon bus equipped with AEBS (automatic emergency braking system) successfully passed a stringent test at Wabco Experiment Base at Hanover, Germany. Soon, Golden Dragon became China’s first bus maker to gain EU’s AEBS pass.

On November 30, 2015, 137 units Golden Dragon Euro VI city buses were delivered to Israel, making the bus maker the first one in China to export Euro VI buses.

Against the “Go Global” backdrop in China’s manufacturing industry, Golden Dragon is pursuing its own unique way of exhibiting China’s competitive manufacturing technologies to its global customers. “Our key to success chiefly lies in our relentless efforts in exploring some major markets and meeting local customers’ special needs,” says Peng. Take Israeli market for example. Golden Dragon started cooperation with the largest bus operator in Israel in 2013. With improved quality, Israel imports over 500 units Golden Dragon buses each year.

In the future, Golden Dragon is planning to build its CKD factory to further solidify its presence in the overseas market. Apart from quality products, “we are aiming at providing comprehensive public transport solutions and services networks for our overseas customers. New energy buses, in particular, will be our focus,”Mr. Peng reveals.

Having been involved in the new energy market for many years, Golden Dragon has already accumulated rich experiences in building recharging posts, vehicle selection, bus dispatch and battery capacity, etc. By 2020, all diesel-powered vehicles in EU will be replaced by non-diesel-powered vehicles. Surely, new energy buses from China is set to make new splashes in the region.

Golden Dragon New Spendour covers 7.5-meter to 10-meter vehicles, aiming to revolutionize current road transportation and tourists transportation markets. D8 electric bus is an extension of Kast XML6809. Inheriting all the strengths of Kast, D8 has cut its body weight significantly without any compromise to its quality and rigidity. The vehicle is the fist product of Golden Dragon among all eight-meter buses. In addition, the new generation Triumph is equipped with Huiduoxing long-distance monitoring system. Thus, any emergencies or troubles will be immediately reported to the driver and solutions will also be provided. In the meantime, bus operators can also check their smart phones to get real-time information about all the operation data, data analysis, safety alarm, and trouble-shooting results.

Mr. Peng points out, “We will continue our hard work in exploring market both at home and abroad. With the rising popularity of our products in the market, we are confident in further sharpening our competitiveness through our optimized new energy bus product line.”
