According to sources, about 4,000 new energy buses are currently on the road for operation in Hunan Province. Among them, nearly 3,200 are branded with CSR Times Electric. In Zhuzhou, nearly all urban buses have been replaced by the new energy powered ones, which include hybrid buses and plug-in distance-enhancing buses. The electric bus, which is expected to put on the road soon, promises even more environmental benefits. Compared with its counterparts which need another investment of 800,000 RMB every two years for their batteries can only last for less than two years, the new electric bus with “double energy source” and “double recharging mode” well solves the energy problem of the green vehicle by integrating the slowly recharging batteries and fast recharging batteries.
Judging from the outside, the electric bus made by CSR Times Electric looks quite similar to those hybrid vehicles. However, it is more environmentally friendly than the latter. After recharging for ten minutes with 300 kilowatts power, the bus can have a storage of 50 kilowatt-hour energy. In hour, the bus can store 300 kilowatt-hour energy. According to a technician from CSR Times Electric, “our new electric bus only consumes 0.9 kilowatt-hour electricity for running one kilometer. That is to say, it is capable of operating over 300 kilometers after being recharged for one hour.”
To date, CSR Times Electric has rolled out different types of electric buses which are six, seven, eight and twelve meters in length. So far, its brand new electric vehicle has already received orders from customers from other cities. According to a technical worker in CSR Times Electric, a green bus demonstration line will be opened next year. Apart from promoting its vehicles, the company is also helping bus operators build recharging stations.
