Why were Zonda buses well received by Burma? Industry insider said good quality, affordable prices and suitable for the use of ASEAN countries were the main reasons.

As the further opening-up of Burman’s economic environment, more buses would be needed. The huge market potential of Burma would be a great opportunity for China automotive enterprises. Burma bus purchaser Mr Lin said city buses were what Burma needed the most. In Burma there were only over 10 thousand buses, most of which were exported from Japan with steering wheels at the right side, opposite to the bus regulation. Being in the period of reforming, Burma bus market provided a good opportunity for China enterprises to break into.

Attending CAEXPO was a shortcut. CAEXPO Engineering Machinery and Transport Vehicle Exhibition held in October every year was a direct platform for the communication and cooperation among China-ASEAN automotive industry and an important stage for China automotive enterprises to show their products and images and raise their prestige. Due to zero tariffs in FTA, China enterprises should exhibit more suitable buses to obtain the key to ASEAN market.
