Ankai Bus leads the commercialization of New Energy Buses
Since the independent development of 12-meter parallel hybrid power buses and smooth operation in Kunming in 2009, Ankai Bus has issued plug-in new energy buses (HFF6120G03SHEV and HFF6121G03SHEV) and got the approvals by the national expert team in this October. The experts unanimously showed that: both two new models represented another technical breakthrough for China new energy buses and made great contribution to the fast development of China new energy buses. At present, Ankai Bus developed 15 types of new energy buses and 14 ones have been listed in the "Recommended Models for Energy Conservation and New Energy Vehicles for Application and Promotion" by the Ministry of Information and Industry.

In 2003, Ankai Bus produced 20 electric city buses with Beijing Institute of Technology on No.121 bus route that is the first one where new energy city buses are in business operation in China. In 2005, the technology of domestic battery makes great process. The company developed the electric buses with nickel-metal hydride battery in 2005, which enhances 30% of constant driving range and improves cell quality. In 2007, it developed the third generation of electric buses equipped with iron-phosphate-based lithium-ion batteries as well as super-capacitors. The model has been used in Shanghai as the official reception vehicle for Shanghai World Expo.
In January 2010, Hefei Public Transport Group purchased 30 electric city buses in No.18 bus route that is the first route where all electric city buses are operation in China with the maximum daily driving range of almost 300 kilometers. In June, Hefei Xinya Transport Company purchased 100 Ankai electric coaches. In September, Hefei Public Transport Group purchased 150 electric city buses. Moreover, 85 Ankai electric buses served the World Expo in Shanghai. In addition, the orders from the cities such as Shanghai, Kunming and Nanjing have referred to more than 300 units.
