www.chinabuses.org: As one of the official sponsors of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, Continental, the German auto parts producer claimed on 1 June that it has prepared a group of qualified HSR 1 bus tires for 32 teams for the games.

It is known that these HSR 1 bus tires are specially designed for highway and regional transport, suitable for the shuttling of buses. Continental showed that "We will make sure the best football players's safety in the world since the stamps of tires are only as big as postcard."

In South Africa , Continental has become the leading power in after-sales market of tires with the market share of over 20%. In 2009, it produced 2.4 million tires for cars and 100,000 tires for trucks in local area.
