Foton Expands Production Capacity of Whole Vehicles and Engines with 10bn Yuan

www.chinabuses.org: Beiqi Foton declares that they will invest ten bn yuan (1,464,259,000 USD) to expend production capacity of whole vehicle and spare parts in the following two or three years. And their production capacity will be one million to one and a half million units till 2013. At that time, Foton may become the biggest domestic production base of commercial vehicles and engines.

Deputy manager of Foton Motors Wang Xiangyin said that Foton will invest ten bn yuan (1,464,259,000 USD) to build the second Auman plant with production capacity 80,000 units which will be started in end of 2010. In addition, Foton and Cummins have also invested 2.7 bn yuan (395,349,000 USD) with production capacity about 400,000 engines.
