Yangyu, special commentator of CCTV, was interviewed presently. He stated that school bus is a great way to protect students, however, American safety mode of school bus can hardly come true in China since totally different conditions. Expect few cities, it’s a long way to go on developing school bus to protect schoolchildren.

Of course we may learn from their importance on school bus, since it is an effective way to solve safety problems of children and ease parents.

However, there are two reasons to develop school bus in the U.S. The first is that most families live far from each other, the other is that school district system is generally adopted. In this case school bus is efficient and possible. But in China, some school children live near their school, so they can just walk to school, and some other students live separately all over a city or a town, in this way, it’s not economic and practical to operate a school bus.

So safety problems of school students cannot be solved by school bus only. Many countries set example. In Japan, school children, alone or in a group, can enjoy far more care in traffic than adults.

Speaking of the new standards bound to be carried out from July 1st, Yang said that it’s certainly a good thing, and we should applause such national regulations. A black box in school bus can never solve the problems, and we have more things to be done.
