www.chinabuses.org: It is known from the website of Environmental Department that we have carried on the national environment protection standard of "Technical Specifications for On-board Diagnostic(OBD) System of Light Duty Vehicles （HJ500-2009）" since 1 February 2010 to prevent the pollution of the emission of the automobiles, improve the air quality and meet the requirements of the environmental management.

The standard complements the technical part about the OBD system in the "Limits and measurement methods for emissions from light-duty vehicles (Ⅲ, Ⅳ)"（GB18352.3-2005）and makes the strict requirements of management technologies in the respects of type approval of OBD system, conformity inspection, inspection of vehicle and universal agnosing instruments.

The standard is applicable to the light-duty vehicles with spark ignition engine or compression ignition engine with maximum designed speed of 50km/h or higher. And it can be proceeded for heavy-duty vehicles with spark ignition engine and maximum designed speed of 50km/h or higher for guidance.
