www.chinabuses.org : After almost ten-day strict appraisal, Beijing Public Transport Holdings, Ltd. (BPT) delivered the bus order of over 1000 units to Zhengzhou Yutong, Suzhou Higer, XiamenKinglong, Beiqi Foton and Ankai on 25 December, 2009.

It is known that BPT publicly invited bids of 1263 buses on 17 December, 2009 and Yutong Bus, Higer Bus, Kinglong Bus, Foton Auv Bus and Ankai Bus joined it. The order is made sure on 25 December and all five bus manufacturers won, namely, Kinglong-350 units, Higer-330 units, Beiqi Foton-200 units, Zhengzhou Yutong-150 units and Ankai-150 units.

With the development of the urban construction and requirements, BPT centers on the operation, safety and service with the comprehensive management of the city public transport, holds the principle of " convenient journey and improved service" ,continuously adjusts the structure of operation & vehicles and reasonably makes the layout of route network to form the public transport system with the body of electric buses and the assistant special vehicle, air-condition vehicle, double deck bus, touring bus, intercity bus and taxi, which plays the leading role in the Beijing city traffic development. As of the end of 2008, there are various 28071 vehicles in Beijing Public Transport with 816 operation routes, the annual driving of 1.822 billion km and the volume of passenger transport of 4.581 million people.
