www.chinabuses.org  SAIC Motor established the new energy auto basis on Caofeidian with the objective to extend the market and cover the North China market.

The nameplate of this new energy auto basis, located in Jiading area（Shanghai ）was unveiled in this July.  SAIC Motor claimed that it made the cooperative framework arrangement with Tangshan Municipal People's Government to build up the new energy auto production basis with the joint investment, mainly to meet the requirement of the markets in Tangshan, Hebei even China north. It is analyzed that SAIC Motor aims at North China market as the leading corporation.

The current arrangement has not yet referred to the specific size and capital input. According to the information of the secretary office of the Chairman, the joint venture is ensured and the the establishment of the development center not confirmed. According to the bulletin, both parties will start with the development of electric, hybrid power and other traditional buses and extend their cooperation range based on the practical demand mainly for the Tangshan, Hebei and North China market.

The planning area of this new energy basis is 9.5 square kilometers and about 439 million USD is invested in the Phrase one. The government promised to support it in the respect of capital, taxes, the introduction of talents and the government purchase in Jiading with the objective of the 13 billion USD or so in the production scale. The purchase of the new energy vehicles will reach above 30% in the procurement of the district and the town government as well as the public business.
