www.chinabuses.org: Minibus market, which is rising in 2009, contributed a lot for lots of bus builders. And Beiqi which lack of minibus products is eager to develop like product. As introduced by person in charge of Beiqi, they have invested 5,000,000,000 RMB (732,203,800USD) to build South China Base in Zhuzhou, Hunan province. The base will start to produce from 2010, and the main product is minibuses.

It’s learned that the base, located in Zhuzhou high and new technology industrial development zone, Liyu industrial zone, started to build from September 2008. The project is 530,000 m2  with 5,000,000,000 RMB (732,203,800USD) and 3,500,000,000 RMB (512,542,660USD) basic construction investment. The Base comprises passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles series, including light truck, medium truck, pick-up, light bus, SUV and MPV etc six sorts with production capacity as many as 200,000 units per year. And yearly sales income can reach up to 15,000,000,000 RMB (2,196,559,938USD).

 
Previously, Baiqi owned the most plentiful production lines among domestic motor manufacturers, but they didn’t have minibus below A0. They hadn’t anticipated the soaring sales of minibus in 2009. Sales volumes of minibus in China were 170,000 units in October, 2009, up 129.3% year on year. And accumulated sales volumes of minibus were 1,590,000 units in the first ten months, up 73.9% year on year. And Changan Auto is listed No. 4 in domestic automobile production and sales roll with their minibus products.

It’s learned that their minibus is going to roll off the production line in late 2010. And the vehicle, independently developed by Beiqi research institute will employ Beiqi self sedan brand, “Beijing”. And it will contribute a lot for their goal of production and sales volumes of 2,000,000 units in 2010.
