On Feb. 25, 2009, over 50 units of new types of buses produced by nearly 30 bus manufacturers across China received appraisals from the expert team. They will be on display and compete for 12 awards in the fourth China International Bus Competition.

At the vehicle assessment spot, Hengtong Pure Natural Gas buses won the universal praises from the expert team. The new model called Dushi Xiaozi and colored purplish red, is seven meters long. According to TIAN Ye, Deputy General Manager of HengTong Bus, having obtained independent intellectual property rights in transversally rear-mounted engines, Dushi Xiaozi is equipped with pure natural gas engine with China Ⅲ Emission Standard.

Compared with a fuel vehicle, the new model can reduce the total amount of emissions by over 1,500 kilograms and save fuels by more than 15,000 liters each year. As a newly launched model quite suitable for China’s sub-line transport, Dushi Xiaozi is expected to compete for the Seven-Meter-Level Environmentally Friendly Bus Award in China’s International Bus Competition.
